Using open source software with SAS

Abstract:
Interest in open source software continues to grow.  A January 2009 New York Times article (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/07/technology/business-computing/07program.html?_r=1) discussed the increasing popularity of R.  We will explore using open source software with SAS.  In particular, we will explore using open source text processing utilities with base SAS.
 
Bio:
Louis Schenck is the Manager of Statistical Services for CDS Global.  He manages a small team of analysts to provide analytical and modeling services for marketing. CDS Global assists clients by developing analytical models to optimize response rates, customer reactivation targeting, cross sell targeting, customer profiling, and other types of analytical projects.  Statistical techniques frequently used include regression, logistical regression, decisions trees, and cluster analysis.
